I was born and raised in Southern California and have always had an affinity for the beach and the coastal lifestyle that goes along with it. As a young girl, some of my fondest memories are of spending part of each summer break at my grandmother’s place on the Pacific Ocean in Laguna Beach every year.
After graduating from UCLA, most of my entire adulthood has been spent either living on the coast or near it. I have been working in the surf apparel industry for most of my professional career. This has been an added blessing because my occupation has allowed me to be near my favorite locale…the beach! Sometimes I wonder if saltwater may actually flow through my veins.
Throughout my many years in the surf apparel industry, I have had the good fortune to work with a plethora of super creative artists and designers. Their expertise has been a constant source of inspiration for me.
From an early age, I have been experimenting with arts and crafts. A year ago, I became fascinated by what I saw other artists creating on Pinterest and Youtube. As a result, I felt compelled to develop and share my own artistic vision. I have been a student of multiple mediums from acrylics, gel printing, distress inks, alcohol inks to watercolor. Combining several of these techinques via mixed media products is also in my repertoire. I love it all!
You will notice elements of the beach and ocean in my color palette. Local, coastal flora is also featured in much of my art. I also try to capture the ever changing variety of colors and shades of the sky, sea, and land.
I find the process of creating art therapeutic to my well-being. Daily stresses seem to melt away and my mood is elevated. I really find a deep inner joy and satisfaction making art!
As I move closer toward finding my niche in the art world, it is my sincere hope that my art appeals to those who love the water, its creatures and the plant life in and around Our Mother Ocean.
